To the south of the province of Matanzas, is one of the most important ecosystems in Cuba and the largest wetland reserve in the Caribbean. Its natural landscape is rich and provides habitat to an exceptional flora and fauna, characterized by high levels of endemism.
Inside the Peninsula is located the Gran Parque Natural Montemar, allowing visitors to contact the beaches, mangrove forests, vast rivers and natural lakes, flooded caverns which communicate with the sea, cenotes and seabed of particular beauty that facilitate diving.
Here you can also practiced many sports such as hiking, biking, trekking, hikking, kayaking, boating or go to wildlife refuges and international corridors of birds to watch native and migratory species.
